Self-Waterproofing Performance of Repair Mortars With Inorganic Healing Agents

چکیده

In Europe, about 55% of concrete bridges are 50 years old and require non-structural rapid repair strategies to reinstate the aesthetic durability performances. Existing focus primarily on superficial restoration that continues demonstrate premature deterioration due inevitable micro-crack formations further propagate macro-cracks leading ingress moisture along with harmful ions. this study, benefits self-healing technology control at microscale were investigated. For this, tailored microcapsule inorganic healing agent, specifically, commercially available water-repellent agent (SIKAGARD 705L) was added mortar two types commonly used binders namely CEMI 52.5N 52.5R. The compatibility assessment in terms capsule integration, fresh hardened properties done. baseline efficiency mortars without any additions obtained understand autogenous capacity reference mortars. Subsequently, mixes compared containing varying fractions microcapsules (3, 5, 10%) for autonomous capillary absorption as main function. investigated different crack mouth widths (<250 μm >350 μm); representative residual widths. microcapsules, a maximum reduction sorptivity coefficients up 82% 78% 52.5R mortars, respectively, specimens cracked after 7 days curing observed. synergetic effect action recovery identified proved useful applications. investigated, content, environment considered current study lay foundation optimisation improve performance suit

Self-Testing and Self-Healing via Mobile Agents

Today, in the world, there are more embedded systems then people. The use of digital systems pervades all areas of our lives, and this trend of producing digitally-aware environments will keep growing. In the future it will be normal to live surrounded by large numbers of heterogeneous devices, from domestic systems to complex applications like automotive, transportations, and medical control s...

Self-interested Planning Agents using Plan Repair

We present a novel approach to multiagent planning for selfinterested agents. The main idea behind our approach is that multiagent planning systems should be built upon (singleagent) plan repair systems. In our system agents can exchange goals and subgoals through an auction, using their own heuristics or utility functions to determine when to auction and what to bid. Some experimental results ...

An assessment of lime mortars for masonry repair

Most historic and traditional mortars were made with lime. Due to their nature and function lime mortars weather and need to be replaced. Ordinary portland cement mortars can often be incompatible with historic masonry causing structural and aesthetic damage. Petrographic analysis of original mortars from Clonmacnoise Monastery and Ardamullivan Castle evidenced that they were fabricated with fe...

Microencapsulation of self-healing agents containing a fluorescent dye

Two different self-healing agent candidates, endo-dicyclopentadiene (endo-DCPD) and 5-ethylidene-2-norbornene (ENB), containing a fluorescent dye surrounded by a melamine–urea–formaldehyde (MUF) shell were microencapsulated by in-situ polymerization and the resulting microcapsules were characterized in this work. The microcapsules showed a narrow size distribution with a spherical shape and rou...

Thermo-Mechanical Compatibility of Viscoelastic Mortars for Stone Repair

The magnitude of the thermal stresses that originate in an acrylic-based repair material used for the reprofiling of natural sandstone is analyzed. This kind of artificial stone was developed in the late 1970s for its peculiar property of reversibility in an organic solvent. However, it displays a high thermal expansion coefficient, which can be a matter of concern for the durability either of ...
